Will Walking around the house with my green snuggie and my thigh holster with the .45 There are over 550 million firearms in worldwide circulation. That's one firearm for every twelve people on the planet. The only question is: How do we arm the other 11? "If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace." #1 Rifles are never bad, don't have a safe to place them in so I keep trigger locks on them and locked in gun cases locked to a eyebolt in floor #2 $7000.00 would just about cover it if I shopped around hard enough but job is having layoffs and I deal with cancer recovery so money is tight. On occasion I have fired the M1 at the range just by admiring the guys next to me...Wish I could get my hands on the service rifle I used while in the Navy M14 sweetest rifle ever made imo. I have never fired .50 cal but one day

My collection right now, it is poised to grow rapidly in the next few years as I will actually have some disposable income, if everything goes according to plan...
From top to bottom; -Savage 93R17BTV with laminated walnut stock, has a cheap 3-9x40 scope but getting a BSA Sweet 17 6-18x40 shortly. It's so fun and accurate, and has no recoil at all. -Finnish M-39 built on an 1887 Tula receiver with a '42 VKT barrel, 99% new rifle, haven't even shot it yet because I only want to use good quality commercial ammo in it. -'42 Izhevsk M-38, 99% new rifle, have put about 100 rounds through it so far, a real blast to shoot. -Sporterized Remington 1917 rifle, the first sporterized American rifle that didn't make me want to gouge my eyes out, received it in place of payment from an employer. Accurate and kicks really hard. -Savage 64F with Tasco 3-9x40 scope. Nice fun accurate gun, probably should have gotten the FVXP for the heavy barrel and same scope, but I want to get a compact 3-9x scope that will clear the rear sight leaf so I can keep the iron sights installed. -Crosman 622 Pelle-Clip CO2 pump .22 air rifle from mid 70's, picked it up at a yard sale last summer for $15, and it's such a nice accurate air rifle I wanted to show it off. -Badly Disfigured M1938 6.5 Carcano. Got it for free, someone tried sporterizing the original stock and removed the mag, ruining the thing. Not sure what I want to do with it, maybe find a new stock and magazine, maybe try making a new stock and getting a 303 barrel to convert it to a single shot 7.62x39, or maybe just leave it. Haven't even fired it yet, so maybe I should do that first.
The list of guns I'd like to add to this collection goes on forever, but in the near future I want to get a nice simple shotgun, maybe a Stoeger Coach so I can do Army of Darkness impressions ("...this, is my BOOMSTICK!"), lol. I want to get a Yugo SKS so I have something in 7.62x39, and a Saiga 5.45 so I can shoot that too, and soon convert the Saiga to 922r & AWB compliant normal AK74 configuration. Of course more Mosins, and a Tokarev SVT-40 rifle if possible. Also something in .223, I want a Savage 12BGTV in .223, maybe an AR would be a wiser purchase, or maybe both.
Is the last scoped rifle a Weatherby? What caliber is it? I like it!!
No it 7 MM MOUSER [7X57] That is my hog shooting gun.

couple of my faves: my GP WASR-10 10/63, and my pre-ban Norinco AKM-47S. sexy beasts that eat any ammo. not a piece of plastic in sight.
So funny to see peoples preferences and personalities come out. Like you love the AK's but for me they don't do much. I have an AR really just because I had to have one and it's a blast to shoot. But when it comes to my pistols, I swear I go to sleep at night dreaming about them (cleaning, firing, making adjustments.
Over time of seeing each others posts you can really get a feel for what everyone is about

agreed, and ditto-city brother.
as can be seen, I love the military stuff, older stuff, and stuff with wood. the polymer stuff puts me to sleep. especially the modern mass-produced stuff that doesn't even come with iron sights!!! (I still cannot believe that) so, carry the logic through, what kind of handgun would I get?

Thanks. Installed the bullet guide yesterday and the skeleton stock and pistol grip this morning.

Cool, I want to get the 5.45 Saiga, might pick one up in a couple months if not earlier. What stock is that?
DPH Skeleton Stock (aluminum). There is an adapter to make it a side folder, but I opted not to get that. Whatever Saiga you choose, make sure to get a place where you can buy some milspec mags for it. Converting it to accept them is fairly easy.
