pros cons? after recently seeing a few and reading rob l's review of the 45, i'm considering a kahr to be my next purchase...anyone? love'm, hate'm? pm-9, maybe cw 40? Also, inre rob L's review, is buying used a bad idea?(seems to be some lemons?) thanks for any input
The Kahrs are great. Very accurate and usually very reliable. Down sides are the metal framed guns are a little heavy. The polymer series guns are... iffy. SOME of the polymer frame guns have had reliability issues. Some of them just need 200 rounds or so to break in... some never do. If you buy a P series Kahr shoot it a good deal before you stake your life on it. That said, I'd still buy one.
The 9mm's are easy to shoot. Snappy, maybe a bit surprising at first, but easy to shoot. The 40 S&W... I've only shot one 40 Kahr, it was a polymer framed gun. It wasn't enjoyable. It wasn't brutal, or real painful or anything, but it wasn't fun. I could see a lot of people being unable to shoot it. My MK9 I can run box after box through and have fun doing it. The 40 you're more likely to shoot a mag or two and go "that's good enough for now".

BTW, I have a Kahr E-9, the no-longer-made economy version of the K-9. It's heavy, but the trigger pull is like butter, and it's nicely balanced. I've replaced it for carry with a KelTec PF-9 because of its lighter weight and thinner profile, but the E-9 is a fine shooter.
