"Cops wanted Littlejohn to surrender the historic flintlock rifle, complete with ramrod, when they confronted him. But like the first Patriots did to the Red Coats, Littlejohn stood his ground. "
What did that mean? When the cops asked for the gun did he say NO or did he give it to them and recently get it back?

They never really tried to take it from him. This shows that they knew they couldn't legally confiscate it because it WAS legal but they relied on intimidation. I'm sure that even if they were unsure of the law, they would have checked it before going to see him. If that gun was illegal or if this guy was breaking the law it would have been confiscated in a flash and this guy would have been in handcuffs. Despite what many here feel, the cops woring for the license burear are not idiots. If they can't do something legally, and can intimidate you instead and you go for it, they win. |

In a way, it's really unfortunate that the NYCPD wasn't stupid enough to arrest him. It would have made for an excellent law suit. Gary |

Too bad Littlejohn cannot counter sue for intimidation and harassment and being caused a lot of inconvenience by the NYPD |

Nice. Really need to show these politicians that we can't be pushed around like this. And that's a nice rifle too, I'd like to have a reproduction Revolutionary War sharpshooter's rifle. |

I've read about this a while back. A worker from Staples SS'd him when he left the receipt for the rifle on the counter. Instead of trying to call the guy back and tell him he dropped his receipt, the worker called the cops. Needless to say, Staples has since lost my business. |
