I go there, out of convenience, it's reasonably close to home. Nothing to write home about, pretty run down and not much to look at as far as the shop area, but I've never seen a full firing line even on weekends, so I can get in and out whenever I want, and they have reasonable hours.
You will see people shooting there wearing respirators. That should tell you something.
There are a few firearms instructor who use the place, I being one of them. We wear the respirators because of the frequent shooting indoors (confined space), and we are exposed to high level of lead than the normal shooter.
The Medford Range is 1st rate, no problems with air quality or air flow. It's also clean and well managed. Gary
You are joking about the air quality aren't you? The staff is good. Especially Charlie but I will not shoot without a respirator and the range area is not clean, well lit or in A+ condition. I deal with it because I like having an indoor range 10min from my house. I also understand that they probably don't make enough money to upgrade at this time.
I used to go there frequently. I still go there occassionaly, air quality is a big concern for me... Charlie is a good man, very accomodating. You're right, they might not have enough capital to upgrade the place...
I was there last weekend, last time I was there was about a year and a half ago. I noticed it looked more beat up (shot up?) than I remembered it. Had to check several lanes before I found one with a working target retreival. I still like going there though because it's rarely busy and nobody bothers you.

I went there this past Sunday, out of convenience. I was quite disappointed. Only 1/3 of the lanes were operational, and the air quality (with only 3 shooters) was quite bad. I heard a grumbling sound in the back, sounded like a ventilation system.
I had to wait 40 minutes before I could get a lane. During that time 3 people came in wanting to use the range, they all left because the wait was too long. It is no way to run a business. Money out the door, for no reason.
However, they did have a couple of cool handguns on display.

Whats the rate they charge? Is it any worse than LISC where the roof leaks. Fans behind you blow air. and there is no AC. I go there only cause its a good group of guys. Any where else to go?

Been going there since I was 12ish. Somewhat run down, but it's been through a few owners and I like it because the range isn't full all the time. I get my own little spot and I can shoot as I please with minimal confrontation. REally wish It was renovated...as stated earlier.
Sorry, My fault. I actually was there this morning and burned out one of the points It went out to the 10 yd mark and never came back lol. I took the middle point.
I stopped in there Saturday morning, almost fell down the stairs ,tripped on torn carpet.Shop was full of smoke, very small selection of everything. Place just looked dirty, guy was nice, range looked beat.Otherwise great plce I guess people have different opinions on what well stocked+ clean are.
I think they have them. It seems they don't turn them on. I guess having them on for 2 - 3 shooters may not be cost effective. But, I am only speculating. Btw the owners of the Benson's gun shop own this range.
