It's a wierd place. The gun club I'm secretary of has about 6 guys that are range officers there. Us along with I believe 3 other clubs fund it, and run it. We have clean ups there and do work on the building when it needs it. I think there are probably public hours although I dont know when they are or what it costs. I only know we shoot matches there. It is a 75 foot range. I imagine you could call up and get more info. I've never needed to though since my club is so intertwined with it. It was closed by the city a few years back under the old Mayor and it wasn't going to be re opened and we all joined forces and fought them along with the help of the NRA. The city's main concern was lead poisoning from ammo in the back stop and an old oil tank that was in ground for heating oil they said was leaking and contaminated the ground. We proved them wrong and forced them to open it up agian, but that was in about 2004

I just recently joined the Glen Cove Gun Club, which uses the range situated on the Glen Cove Gold Course. It is a 25 yard range with 7 points. I have not been there yet but intend to check it out this weekend. Will report back here. The Gun Club charges a $100.00 a year membership which certainly is reasonable enough. They are looking for new members.

This range is not public and has no public hours... Clubs have assigned times for which they can shot for matches etc..
